In September 2025, we received a call that would remind us why we do what we do.
Our friends at STARF (Stronger Together Across Ringwood and Fordingbridge) reached out with an urgent need: a young person had been accepted to college but couldn’t afford a laptop. Without one, they’d have to turn down their place.
The timing couldn’t have been better. We’d just completed secure data wiping for The Masuri Group, who were refreshing their hardware.
Instead of sending these perfectly good laptops to landfill, we saw an opportunity to give them, and a young person, a new lease of life.
After discussions with The Masuri Group, we agreed to donate the devices.
The ripple effect was immediate.
Not only did we help that student get to college, but Mandy and Kevin at STARF connected us with Ringwood School, who gratefully took the remaining laptops. They told us they had several young people from very difficult home situations who desperately needed them.
A week later, we received a message that made our day. The Deputy Head of Ringwood School wrote: “The first laptop left the building this afternoon with a happy Year 10 customer!”
Five laptops. Five young people now equipped for their educational journey.
Your old hardware could be someone’s new opportunity.
If you’re planning a hardware refresh or already have devices ready for disposal, don’t let them become e-waste.
Get in touch with us, and together we can make a real difference to a young person’s future right here in our community.
