This July, seventeen of us from CS Group laced up our hiking boots and took on one of the UK’s most beautiful—and challenging—walks: a full 26-mile marathon along the iconic Jurassic Coast, all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Starting inland in the historic market town of Wareham, our route took us through stunning Dorset countryside before meeting the breathtaking coastline that makes this region so special. Twenty-six miles is no small feat—it’s a full marathon on foot, with coastal paths, rolling hills, and the unpredictable British weather to contend with.
But we weren’t just walking for the views.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides comprehensive support to individuals affected by cancer—not just those diagnosed, but their families and carers too. From medical expertise to practical advice and emotional support, they’re there for people when they need it most.
Right now, there are 3 million people living with cancer in the UK. Macmillan’s goal is ambitious but vital: to be there for every single one of them, from the moment of diagnosis onwards.
We set out to raise £4,250—enough to fund a Macmillan Nurse for seventeen days. These specialist nurses provide essential medical, practical, and emotional support that can make all the difference to someone facing cancer.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, colleagues, friends, and family, we’re thrilled to say we’ve raised an incredible £3,815 so far—that’s 89% of our target! We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you who donated, shared our page, or cheered us on.
To everyone who supported us—whether through donations, words of encouragement, or joining us on the walk—thank you. Together, we’ve made a real difference to people living with cancer and their families.
And to our amazing team of seventeen walkers: we did it! 💚
If you’d like to support our team and help us reach our £4,250 target, it’s not too late to donate https://www.justgiving.com/team/csgroup.
